Privacy notice: GDB Surfacing, Derby
This notice explains how Gavin Baldry, trading as GDB Surfacing & Civil Engineering, uses the personal information you give us. We are the "data controller" for that information, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.
Who we are and how to contact us
Gavin Baldry, trading as GDB Surfacing & Civil Engineering. For anything about your personal information, email gdbsurfacing@gmail.com or call 07706 329 848.
What we collect
- When you call, text or email us: your phone number or email address, and whatever you tell us about the job.
- If you become a customer: the address of the work, the details of the job and payment records.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and carry out the work. The law allows this because you've asked us to take these steps before, and as part of, a contract with you.
- To keep the financial records the law requires. The law allows this because it is a legal obligation.
Who we share it with
- Anyone working on your job with us, and only what they need to do it, such as the address.
- Your local council, where a dropped kerb job needs details of the work to be given to them.
- Our email provider, which holds the emails you send us.
Some of these companies may store or handle information outside the UK. When that happens, UK data protection law requires the information to be protected to the same standard.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted after 12 months.
- Customer records: kept for 6 years after the job, to meet tax record-keeping rules.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- stop or limit how we use it
- give you your information in a format you can take elsewhere, where this applies
To make a request, email gdbsurfacing@gmail.com or call 07706 329 848. There's no charge, and we'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
